Best way to get rid of acne without seeing a dermatologist and using prescriptions??

I want clear skin!!Best way to get rid of acne without seeing a dermatologist and using prescriptions??
Proactiv solution works good here is the website http://www.proactiv.com/Best way to get rid of acne without seeing a dermatologist and using prescriptions??
I am a customer service representative for a product called Proactiv Solution. I have used this product for years and I absolutely love it! Between you and I I would trade my kids in for it because I don't have to fight with this like I do with them. lol Anyway, it is a simple 3 step product that you do every morning and night. You can call 1-800-950-4695 and ask for a skin consult to best fit you with a kit that will give you the best results. The skin consult is free. Best of all it comes with a 60 day money back guarantee so if you don't like it for some reason you can send it back. The really great thing about Proactiv is it was made by 2 Stanford trained dermatologists to clear up current acne issues and help prevent new break outs. Another cool thing about Proactiv is the stuff is available without a prescription even though they use prescription grade ingredients. Very cool and it doesn't cost all that much. Plus, if you are insured with a Flex pay account they will cover the cost of your Proactiv each year.
Well, I personally use Proactiv, but here are some other ideas...

-don't touch your face during the day to much, the oil on your fingers will go on your face!

-wash ur face twice a day, no more or your skin can get more oily!

-remember: the only way junk food can affect the way your skin looks, is if you rub a hamburger on your face ;) (aka the foods you eat wont change your skin)

-in every grocery store there are little aisles with a shelf of face wash (Clean %26amp; Clear, Neotrogena, etc) I'd recommend trying one, but if it doesn't work, or makes your skin worse, stop using it.

Tip: Personally, I don't have sensitive skin, but if you do, some formulas can make your face worse.

Remember: Skin won't clear up very fast, and when it does, u have to keep it clear.

Myth: No, if you put something on your face to help clean it and it tingles IT DOES NOT MEAN IT'S WORKING. People don't understand that when that happens it's irratating their skin!

I WISH YOU LUCK, AND I HOPE I HELPED! =)
None, I would recommend you to see a dermatologist in any case because he knows best.

I don't know if Proactiv will really help you, because it depends which acne you have and how is it developed.

When I was in pubery I had strong acne and my dermatologist has given my Isotretinoin a medication with Vitamin A. But it has some side effects and after a few months your dermatologist must check your blood levels.

It was a potent medication, because my strong acne went away without any scars

LUV,

m!CK3Y!
Try Cliniques ';Acne Solutions'; People say ir works better than ProActive.
clinique skin regiment is the best i've tried, because i have sensitive skin. you wash with a foam soap, use astringent to clean out your pores, and get medicine to clear the redness and the bumps. i love clinique's skin care line, it has done wonders for me.

if your skin isn't as sensitive as mine, try biore ice wash which you can get anywhere really. it works well too, unfortunately it dries my skin. you may also want to try the clean and clear steam facial. it cleans out your skin while you're in the shower. the steam opens your pores and the wash goes in and cleans them out.

if you try this and your skin dries out, clinique moisture surge is amazing! if you don't have 30 dollars to spare for the clinique moisturizer, there is a garnier fructise moisturizer that does alright too.

if your acne is bad you may want to consider going to the dermatologist. i went last year and they gave me pills that cleared my breakouts completely.

vote me best answer if this helps you :)
It would be help to maintain a good diet and drink water. It helps when you don't eat a lot of junk food and you should wash your face everyday even if it's only with water.

THIS WORKS FAST %26amp; CHEAP!!!

I used Tetracycline, Proactive, Retina A and had many expensive facials with less than good results. This has worked for me and many many other happy people.

Go to pharm., Drug store, or Wal-Mart, buy ';PURPOSE'; bar of soap - Blue box - Made by Johnson %26amp; Johnson - wash your face with this 2-3x's per day. Also pick up a LOW strength Benzoyl-peroxide cream, apply the cream by dabbing to the individual blemishes.... DON鈥橳 rub it in works using a oxidation/reduction reaction. It will unclog

dry it out and bring it to a head...DON鈥橳 over use this or put anywhere else on your face. It will cause drying and make you look worse.

Salicylates such as found in regular aspirin among other products work very similar but also remove layers of skin...other over the counter creams with this product will dry out pimples but maybe too hash and cause surrounding skin trauma..

I have seen many people recommending crushing aspirin and making a paste which probably will dry out the blemish but again pretty strong and probably will cause more tissue damage and bigger scars as an anti inflammatory probably would take the redness out... again pretty harsh for sensitive skin.

Also, If need which probably will for moisture ASK FOR ';NUTRADERM lotion'; - the original not the new stuff, this works great and wont clog pores or leave a residue on your skin...Any lotion that is completely oil free and hypo allergic should work but again I recommend Nutraderm. I have heard from people online that ';Purpose'; also makes a lotion that is good, Neutrogena, and Nivea make good products also. I recommend Nutraderm from experience and my dermatologist.

';Purpose Bar'; %26amp; ';Nutraderm'; are oil free and hypo allergic they contain no perfumes and are great for both men and women. I have also heard great reports of this soap helping improve skin tone. Some people recommend the ';Purpose liquid soap'; saying

that the bar did dry out their skin some. The rational behind using the bar is that there are no ingredients in it that will clog pores, and according to dermatologists they recommend the Bar. I have also heard good responses from ';cetaphil soap';. These products are safe for all skin colors and tones. I highly discourage use of Proactive and other harsh chemicals for people with some natural color in their face due to the bleaching and drying effect it has shown in many many people.

Additional TIPS: acne, pimples, etc are frequently cause by a bacteria or hormone issues that cause clogging of pores. DON鈥橳 PICK POP POKE (your hands are the dirtiest part of your body) and will cause: infections, spreading of germs, more breakouts and scarring

DON鈥橳 EVER listen to people online who tell you to scrub your sensitive skin or use harsh chemicals such as: Lemon juice, vinegar, alcohol, etc... DON鈥橳 EVER use that APRICOT CRAP!!! DON鈥橳 USE PROACTIVE- this is expensive and harsh it may kill the bacteria because also Benzoyl based wash but will irritate skin and cause bleaching of face and neck.... Other similar treatments may work.. Also things such as Accutane but have SERIOUS side effects such as Major Depression, %26amp; birth defects in unborn children, among others

If you wear make up make sure it is oil free, %26amp; hypo allergic...Eating healthy...Drinking plenty of water.. Changing pillow cases freq. ...avoiding dirty sports equip. such as helmets...can not hurt...Acne/pimples again are caused by pores/hair follicles becoming plugged up, this plugging then causes an inflammatory reaction - redness and infection (pimple)..black head is dirt or old oil trapped in pore, while a white head is the same thing you just don鈥檛 see the dirt instead you see white pus (lymphocytes that accumulate in the area to fight the infection) It has been shown in many studies this most often not caused by what you eat (chocolate etc... or how clean you are) but most often by either excess oils plugging pores or a bacteria on the skins surface. - Proactive works in some people because it is a strong Benzoyl peroxide based washed but is most freq. to strong

for people with sensitive skin - this is why alot of people get excessive drying and flaking, rashes, bleaching or breakouts from the product. Retina-A does decrease the bacterial growth on your face but also removes dead/living skin, this can work well in some individuals and has been shown to reduce wrinkles and scars but again I feel this is pretty harsh on sensitive skin prone to breakouts. If you choose Retina-A never use this product during the day only at night due to the sensitivity it will give you to the sun. You must also get a prescription for this product and I really don't believe it is worth the damage it does to your skin. In some rare cases for very deep/large boils and cyst types

of pimples oral antibiotics maybe needed but I would first recommend trying ';purpose'; and a low dose ';benzoyl-peroxide cream'; along with a good oil free moisturizer ';Nutraderm... etc'; this does work well.

THIS WORKS FAST AND CHEAP!!! I no longer get expensive facials, take oral antibiotics, or even NEED makeup... I am very happy - Have very good skin... and have many many other happy friends... THANKS again to my WONDERFUL DERMATOLOGIST... TRY THIS!! GOOD LUCK.... PS. ';PURPOSE'; costs about $3 ----------------------------------------鈥?br>

----PSSS---sorry so long I have to keep adding more information to this to address common questions that always being asked....

Microdermabrasion for acne is better or going to the dermatologist?

Im a 19 year old guy whos really frustrated with acne....tried lots of options like facials,tanning.....Spa treatments...using topical creams like acnelak and taking zinc tablets and safi..but nothing has worked...so i would like you guys to give an answer to this questionMicrodermabrasion for acne is better or going to the dermatologist?
Ask your doctor for a topical gel or cream like Tazorac and a antibiotic prescription. %26amp;%26amp; A dermatologist would have to do a Microdermabrasion and tanning wont help acne just dry it out and possibly worsen it.

  • I have acne will the dermatologist fix it? ?

I have some acne on my face. I try many products. Will the dermatologist fix it. When i say fix i mean completely gone of pimples no more on my face.I have acne will the dermatologist fix it? ?
    Conor A,

I used to have it really bad and used about every product there is to get rid of it. They didn't work. So I went to the doctors. I used the prescription medication and I now almost have clear skin. But this is a long term treatment.

The reason you get acne is because of hyperactivity of sebaceous glands. These glands are in the hair follicles and secret oil. So to be able to fight acne you should fight these glands to make them less active.

Here are 5 suggestions before going the the extreme of seeing a doctor:

1- Vit A so far is well known for its effect on these glands to make them less active. However if you take high doses of Vit A there is the risk of vit A toxicity plus the fact that if you get pregnant there might be a chance that your baby will have birth defects. However drinking Carrot juice every day or every other day or drinking Rock melon juice is very beneficial for the body and for the skin. Carrot can also protect your skin from sun damage.

2-“ Witch Hazel” is another thing that can be helpful. You can find it in most drug stores. It can make skin tightened and close the pores so less oil will come to the skin. This is good for people who have oily skin. You should get a gentle soap and carry it in your bag every where you go and just wash your face every few hours to clean the extra oil and then using cotton balls apply “Witch Hazel” on your skin to tighten the pores.

3-Another suggestion is if you do not have dark skin or blonde hair you can use Laser or IPL permanent hair removal. When you destroy hairs permanently the chances that your acne will improve is high. First of all the chances that the pores get blocked because of growth of hair will go away and secondly the pores get smaller when there are no hair follicles left. This can help to decrease Acne. However IPL or Laser hair removal usually does not work for people with dark skin or Blond Hair.

    4-Oxy

    5-Pro Activ

Have a good one.I have acne will the dermatologist fix it? ?
Dude ive had severe acne since the 5th grade. If urs is really bad id recomend acutane its a pil u take once a day and basically it dries up ur skin and clears it all up in about a 6 month spread. im going through 3 month and im already 70 percent clear. if its not severe wash your face twice a day with dove soap and use aquafor for dry skin.

I've got mild Acne but my Acne got redness so I should go to a Dermatologist even my Acne is mild?

Should I go to a Dermatologist even my Acne is mild? but my Acne got redness. So he/she know whats the situation of my Acne. I know Dermatologist knows bestI've got mild Acne but my Acne got redness so I should go to a Dermatologist even my Acne is mild?
If your acne's not that bad and you have lots of redness, it's probably from either rosacea, sunburn, or using products that are too strong. Use very gentle products on your skin for a week (don't use acne treatments during this time) and see if the redness goes away. If it does, you'll just need to find a gentler skin-care regime (especially steer clear of Benzoyl Peroxide). Cetaphil makes some great products that dermatologists recommend for sensitive skin, even w/acne.

If after this you still have redness, it's probably rosacea. If you do your research online, there are products available over the counter to help. But if you really don't mind spending the money %26amp; time to go to a dermatologist after this, then go ahead. But be forewarned: there are many great dermatologists but also many who will go straight to the super-strong treatments. Make sure they are gentle with your skin.

I want to get prescription acne treatments do i have to go to a dermatologist or can i just go to my doctor?

Can i just go to my regular doctor.I want to get prescription acne treatments do i have to go to a dermatologist or can i just go to my doctor?
Most family physicians will try to treat your acne themselves, unless they are lazy and don't want to deal with it, so they send you to a dermatologist. Otherwise they might send you to a dermatologist after you've tried what they give you and it doesn't work for some reason. A good doctor will not simply send you away for someone else to deal with.I want to get prescription acne treatments do i have to go to a dermatologist or can i just go to my doctor?
your regular doctor will recommend a dermatologist you can go to. then you can get the medicine from him/her.
    dermatologist

How much does it cost for the dermatologist get rid of your acne?

how much does it cost for the dermatologist to get rid of moderate acne in atlanta ga or anywhereHow much does it cost for the dermatologist get rid of your acne?
Well, dermatologists are like any other doctor really. You're insurance company (hopefully) will pay for the visit and then they can prescribe you medication. There are several different types of medication out there. A visit to a dermatologist will really help determine what is best for you. Then you go get the prescription filled at a pharmacy just like if it were antibiotics or something.

You may need to get a referral from a family doctor prior to seeing a dermatologist also, depending on how your insurance works.

Also, if you haven't yet, look in to Proactiv. It's a pretty good treatment that I used as a teenager and is still around today. You don't need to visit a doctor to get it.How much does it cost for the dermatologist get rid of your acne?
    Billions of Pesos.
Depends on the treatment, he may recommend a suave, ect. let us know how it goes. oh and ALWAYS ask you Doc for samlpes, thats why they have them!
it depends on how severe it is. My dermatologist just gave me some cream to use and without insurance it was 120 bucks! I got a lot of samples! But there are a lot of different ways to treat acne. Just go in and talk to them, they may just suggest you use certain facial washes and cleansers.

    Good Luck!

Has anyone suffered from extreme back acne? Will it completely go away if I see a dermatologist?

I want my back to look clean but my back acne is horrendous. Has anyone ever been fully cured of back acne?Has anyone suffered from extreme back acne? Will it completely go away if I see a dermatologist?
My son has bad back acne on occasion. We found some Phisohex scrub and a long handled back brush for him to use in the shower. As long as he uses it, his back is clear. When he stops using it, the acne comes back after a while.Has anyone suffered from extreme back acne? Will it completely go away if I see a dermatologist?
my son went to a dermatologist and was prescribed Accutane. It did indeed take away his back acne, which was also horrendous, but it also permanently damaged his liver, he can no longer take tylenol, nor can he drink alcohol. Choice is yours.
Expensive detoxifiying sea salts . Take a bath more often at night .

PLUS Wash after using conditioner. get one of the back brushes

Can I get a doctor not a dermatologist to give me a prescription for acne?

Like something mild. Can I get a doctor not a dermatologist to give me a prescription for acne?
sure, but a dermatologist will be better. He or she will know the latest medications and treatments for you. Also, they know how to look for the signs of skin cancer, etc.Can I get a doctor not a dermatologist to give me a prescription for acne?

  • Will a Dermatologist help with my Acne?

I have acne and I want it gone I've tried proactiv and it stopped working for me after 6 months and Oxy is doing an ok job but it isn't powerful enough. Will a dermatologist help me or just give me some more creams, cleansers, etc.?Will a Dermatologist help with my Acne?
yes.... believe me... i am an acne sufferer just like you and the only one who made me very satisfied about my face was my dermatologist. i have tried everything... almost all of the over-the-counter products on the market today and nothing got rid of my acne. some made it worse. so i finally sought the help of a dermatologist and i think that was the best decision i have made. she prescribed me some oral medication and also some topical creams and i am telling you... my skin was 95% better after only 3 months. i was so pleased i met her. she told me i can eat anything i want but if i find a food that makes me break out then i should stop it. my advice for you is to go to a dermatologist. they specialize in skin so they know everything that can help your skin. you won't regret it. just go to one that is certified and is competent. good luck to you! Will a Dermatologist help with my Acne?
If your acne is severe enough, your dermatologist can recommend stronger treatments (usually in pill form). These treatments can be pretty powerful, though, so they'll have plenty of side effects. It probably depends on how bad your acne is, as well as your dermatologist. If you are really dying for these treatments but your doctor does not want to give them up easily, maybe you can try explaining that your acne is ';severely affecting your social life'; or something like that.
Dermatologist recommends will vary according to the type of acne. Special Treatments Acne surgery may be used by your dermatologist to remove blackheads and whiteheads. Your dermatologist will evaluate you and suggest the appropriate treatment regimes considering your age, sex, and the type of acne you have.

Don't be a fool, diet plays a huge role with acne.

To sum it all up, Avoid:

Sugar. Limit at most 10grams a day.

    Processed grains/carbs. (bread, cereal).

MILK, omg, avoid that poison. It's so bad.

    Fast Food

    What to do:

    Eat lesser calories

    Exercise

Wash face twice a day with water.

    Well, ****, just eat better.

Most (if not all) studies done on saying ';diet does not = acne'; are outdated, sparse, and limited. Do your research.
dermatologists suck the only thing that i think helps is eat well and wash the face alot
    yes

What exactly do dermatologist do? And how can they help with your skin problems like acne or blotchyness?

Like what do dermatologist do for you? And what goes on when you visit one? Is it benifical to go to a dermatologist for things like (not severe) acne? What exactly do dermatologist do? And how can they help with your skin problems like acne or blotchyness?
I've been to a dematologist for problems such as psoriasis, but I wouldn't go for acne unless it was severe. Try ProActive Solutions. IT WORKS!!!!!!!! I had awful acne up until I started to use it! Hope this helped! Good luck! What exactly do dermatologist do? And how can they help with your skin problems like acne or blotchyness?
I think they specialize in skin care. They can provide the best type of medicine or whatever for your skin so that it will look great.
A dermatologist determines what kind of skin conditon one might have. There are a number of things that can go on when u see one. Most of the time they look at your skin condition under bright light to determine what treatment might be best fot you. Then they prescribe what medicines that is needed.
An M.D who specializes in skin disorders.....can usually do minor surgery on most of the body except nose.....nose they usually refer to Plastic Suregeon.
It is beneficial as long as you are realistic. I went to the dermatologistfor years and still buy dermatoligist products for skincare but I can get them over-the-counter at the doctors office. Glytone is great for acne %26amp; blotchiness. It works for me but that doesnt mean that it would for you. You would have a doctor that would access your skin and make a recommendation for treatment. Just like a general practitioner would do. If it bothers you enough to ask.....go to the doctor. You wont know until you do.
yes they can help. They will perscribe anitbiotics (tetracycleine) and a topical - Retin A - It works I have done it
they are specialist for skin and they can give you some different creams and solutions to your skin problems whatever they may be

What's the likelihood that my acne will be sorted if I go to the local dermatologist?

The GP I went to see gave me two boxes of tablets and Freederm and said there could be a change. If there is no change, I'll have to go to a dermatologist. Are dermatologists usually good at sorting this kinda thing? What's the likelihood that my acne will be sorted if I go to the local dermatologist?
Yes a good one should be! They have done years of extra studying in this particular area and specialities like dermatology are very competitive so they have to know their stuff. They will most likely put you on roacutane or antibiotics.

good luck! What's the likelihood that my acne will be sorted if I go to the local dermatologist?
firstof all how old are you.could be a normal thing. get with your parents and see how they faired in the zit thing. then look at your soaps and body washes. my mom had acne until her late 30s. i get it a little and i am in my 40's. so you might want to consult your parents. go see a doc if you want but they cannot beat genetics. some things just take time. we all had the acne thing going for us when we were in our teens early twenties.
Ya but in my experience DONT TAKE ACUTAINE!!! One of the biggest regrets of my life. I just went in for basic like face acne. I mean I didnt have it too bad but wanted it to be sure. And well my freaking back exploded!!! Like no joke. I got these zitsx1000. It destroyed my back and left huge scare so deep they cant even be like removed by surgery. And I never had back acne before I took it. Ughhh getting mad just thinking about it!!!
absolutely, you probably should have gone there in the first place.
well they are experts there so if it isn't going to go away, they wouldn't charge money
Well, hate to tell you this, but skin products and antibiotics (which is what doctors give you) only push back SYMPTOMS for a little while (the further the less), they don't eliminate the CAUSE of the condition. And it's good for doctors 'cause this way you'll always be coming back for more and stronger (and more expensive) drugs.

Your acne is just an alarm bell of things going wrong in your system, so instead of covering it up you should try and get things straight.

    Here's how.

First thing, you've got to remove all caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea, soda and also alcohol from your diet. (You may reintroduce moderate amounts of those later on when you get better, but not now.)

Secondly, you've got to drink no less than 2 quarts of water DAILY. This is what your body requires, this is what you don't supply, this is (mostly) why you have the problem. In your case it's about skin, in somebody else's it might be whatever else. Drink pure filtered unboiled H2O in 8 to 10 ounce portions right after you get up, 30 minutes before each meal (try to eat 3 moderate meals a day), two and a half hours after each meal, right before going to bed and spread the rest (if any) evenly through the day. And put a little pinch of salt (w/o iodine) on your tongue to dissolve after each glass.

To help battle the problem from the outside you can also use salt water baths. Mix 1 kg of salt (w/o iodine) into a warm bath and get there for 30 minutes before going to bed. Repeat every other 10 days.

Also get more active physically. Get more sun and fresh air. Work up more sweat. At least brisk walk for 30 minutes every day and use stairs instead of elevator whenever possible.

As to your diet, eat moderately, cut down on fat and sugar, never use artificial sweetners, eat more fruit and vegetables, nuts. Opt for natural, simply prepared, not overprocessed foods in general.

I bet you're gonna see things changing in a couple weeks.

Also, you might want to do some additional reading on how important H2O and sodium are to everyday functioning of the body, so check out the links below. Good luck.

My dermatologist says he wont prescribe birth control for acne control why?

I want to just take birth control for my acne. But my derm. says he wont prescribe is that weird? My dermatologist says he wont prescribe birth control for acne control why?
No, I don't thing so... Birth control is a hormone and that is not a Dermatologist field, but rather a GYN. Yes, even though the side effect of the birth control is acne control, the primary reason for that medication is ';birth control';.

Let me give you an example: If you want a steak where will you go?

    A.) Burger King

    B.) Pizza Hut

    C.) Morton's Steakhouse

My ansewer would be go to a steakhouse if you want a steak and Burger king if you want a burger and so on....

OF COURSE NOT! The dermatologist is a SKIN doctor in general. You can go to see if you have pre-cancer symptoms, and many more things. You should go every few months to make sure everything is okay :)Do I have to have acne to go to the dermatologist?
No, you just tell him where you are breaking out and where your problem areas are.

They have something called Retin-A _Micro. See if they can give you a sample of that.

I always ask for samples and then when I find one that works well with my skin, I call and get a prescription from them.
no, you can have skin cancer and go too.
    nope.

    %26amp; yes he still would.

I always ask for samples and then when I find one that works well with my skin, I call and get a prescription from them.
no, you can have skin cancer and go too.
    nope.

    %26amp; yes he still would.
tell him exactly what you told us....

  • I have really bad acne should I go to a dermatologist?

I have tried several products including Proactiv and all it did was make me break out more. Is there a safe way to pop zits?I have really bad acne should I go to a dermatologist?
I would defionitly go to the dermotologist.

At first I really didnt want to go because I didnt think it would do anything but they can see how sensitive your skin is and the best way to take care of it. my skin is the best it has ever loojks due to my dermatologist.

    hope I helped

:]I have really bad acne should I go to a dermatologist?
Yes, you should go see a dermatologist. Popping the zits will not keep new ones from coming in. Visit this guys' website in the meantime. I think what he says makes a lot of sense, and it worked (somewhat) for me. Good luck.

    http://acne.org/
yes, go to a dermotologist. the safest way to pop a zit is carefully with a metal popping instrument(?)=) ive done it before, its a small metal stick wit kind of a spoon like swoop on the end that you gently pop it with to make sure its clean.

    hope that helps=)
be careful popping zits because your skin could scar! go get a facial they can do it safely for you. as far as going to a dermatologist, they will offer you a few things anti-biotics that will make you totally sun sensitive and you may have to be on them for a long time. or they can give you accutain which is a really harsh oral medicine that causes your whole body to peel.

I would go to a clinical skin care therapist first, see if they can treat you, their methods will be more natural and you may not have to commit to a harsh regime.

as far as Proactive is concerned it's really bad stuff, it basiclly stripped your skin so much that you were making tons of oil, just to lubricate your skin and your skin was holding on to all the water and oil so your cells wern't dieing and falling off the way they are supposed to. that is why your skin got worse.

    good luck
Do not pop zits! That's what my dermatologist told me. I've been going to the dermatologist for a little over a year now and its been the best decision ever. I don't know why I put it off. I think I thought that I wouldn't be able to afford the medication. I was wrong though - your doctor can prescribe generic medications. You definitely should go, you won't worry about your skin so much once you get the right help.
No, popping zits is not any better than just letting them be.

You should really go to a dermatologist. They will probably only tell you what you know, that you have sensitive skin and people get acne in their teen years. But, after you listen to all that boring information, they give you medication for you acne and it really helps. Better than anything that you can buy over the counter.

    Good Luck!
you should go see a dermatologist ASAP

What will a Dermatologist recommend for mild acne......?

That i can buy in the shops? What will a Dermatologist recommend for mild acne......?
A glycerin based soap for cleansing, and a product with benzoyl peroxide for spot treatment to start. What will a Dermatologist recommend for mild acne......?
    1. Nutrition is becoming more known and understood as the cause of everything - more fresh organic fruits are a natural face lift, etc. That's fun to investigate.

    2. Thyme essential oil got rid of my adult acne and I keep it under control with avoiding as much processed foods as possible - I don't really ever break out anymore but one here or there sometimes depending on how I'm eating

    3. Things that help: organic baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, organic cornstarch, organic yogurt, organic honey, essential oils from original swiss aromatics

    4. Spring waters are fake, Evian tests well - making the switch

    5. Drinking hot fluids, more soups, heated Evian water to flush the system so things don't show up as zits
Tea tree oil is great for acne and other skin conditions, and it is 100% natural. It is also cheap. You can also use it for minor wounds, abrasions and cuts and burns.
    pobably ProActive

but that unfortunately didnt work for me

    maybe try AcneComplex?..

ehh well no try changing your diet?

I have Acne and was wondering if going to a dermatologist actually works?

i have had enough of spots so am going to go see 1 but before i do i want an opoinon from sum1 who has actually had it done...does it work? do they never come back? if they do what did you do about it? does it hurt? does it cost alot? thanks in advanceI have Acne and was wondering if going to a dermatologist actually works?
I have acne also, i think it runs in the family. Tried some skin care products but they do NO GOOD. So I tried going to a dermatologist, and after 2 weeks of using the prescribed medicine, it worked, some of my friends notice it and told me, I did not tel them I went to a dermatologist..

    I haven't gone to the dermatologist for almost a year now but I continued using her prescribed products. There are still breakouts during my period and because I do not comply with some of her instructions, like going back for check ups and using her medication. %26lt;i forget sometimes%26gt;

You just have to find a dermatologist recommended by others, doesn't necessarily mean a doctor witha big name but someone trusted by others. And of course, you have to be compliant, unlike me.heheI have Acne and was wondering if going to a dermatologist actually works?
Acne is a very common problem among adolescents but it should be treated so don't lessen to any one and get a dermatologist advise
Proactiv you can get from the mall and Differin gel you can from the dermo

Do the acne medications a dermatologist offers work?

I went to a doctor, and she prescribed Differin and BenzaClin. They don't work well for me. I recommend Proactive. It works really well.Do the acne medications a dermatologist offers work?
Yes, I have been using a cream for acne. It's an RX and I love it. The name is Bena Clin. There is a web site for it. My skin is very oily and it takes it down to almost no oil at all. My breakout area is my chin. I have had a big, red, pimple in about 6 months now. I've been using it that long.

Help can dermatologist really help remove acne?

can acne be permitly removed if I go see a dermatologist? will there be side affects? is it really expensive?Help can dermatologist really help remove acne?
Not always. My cousin went to the dermatologist, and he spent over 200 dollars and he still had acne. This is what I suggest:

Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good constancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. These two things are very inexpensive and it's very easy to do since there is only two ingredients.

Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. Some people use this as a mask but DON鈥楾 EVER DO THIS! It can change your skin tone and make your face discolored. But this is not recommended to everyone because it can make it worse.

Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you're prone to pimples. Clearasil, Neutrogena, and proactive are good choices to start if you want a cleanser. THey might not work for you, so try different products. Don't use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don't scrub too hard when you wash your face, because it can irritate your skin.

Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one or two tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don't pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars. Zinc can be found in many types of fishes.

If you have sensitive skin, don't use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. Keep your hands out of your face as much as you can because you hands are full of bacteria and oils. Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they're are trapped with dirt, oils, etc.

An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water. Aloe vera helps acne scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing.Help can dermatologist really help remove acne?
    everything is expensive.

May said to use cold water to close the pores. you shouldn't close them. my mom used to have really bad acne, but she went to the dermatologist and the doctor said to just use hot water. as hot as you can stand.

and acne does have a lot to do with your diet.

    ^^^very bad for acne.^^^
the dermatologist will remove 70% of your acne and they will give you or at least they did me a prescription for some pills and two creams to put on your face. mine was like 100 dollars for all of those i hope this helps!! =]]
If you go to a dermatologist, your acne isnt permanently removed.

They can just recommend products to use and remove the pimples already on your face.

You spend a lot of money just so they can stick a needle through your pores, pop your pimples, drain them, and then put a cream on them to get rid of them temporarily.
    Yes, with chemicals.

The best solution is for you to have an evaluation done by a Dietitian. 99.99% of the acne problems are diet related. Acne is the body's sewer system trying to rid itself of toxins that you have taken in through the food that you eat or chemicals (sodas, energy drinks, etc) drink.

A good dietician can see what you're eating and drinking and propose and PERMANENT solution. But by all means DO NOT pick the acne. Otherwise you will have a MOON face. If you don't know what that is, look at a full moon. Get my drift?

  • Do the acne medications a dermatologist offers or laser acne surgery work?

thing is, my skins not that oily and it's a bit sensitive so acne cleansers make it worse.Do the acne medications a dermatologist offers or laser acne surgery work?
Yes they really do work. Dianette is absolutely brilliant. Acne is an internal (as well as an external) problem and cleansers can not really help fix it.Do the acne medications a dermatologist offers or laser acne surgery work?
I have the same problem. The best cleanser to use in this case is Cetaphil. It cleanses the skin very gently. Using antibiotic ointment on blemishes may also help the acne without being as harsh as ';blemish removers';. Also make sure you moisturize with a gentle lotion like cetaphil (wal mart makes generic cetaphil products that work quite well). Dry skin often makes acne worse.

I have been going to a doctor for years with acne. I've had mixed success with several topical medicines but the thing that worked the best for me were antibiotics. It's not a long term solution but it can get heavy outbreaks under control.
I have done laser for various things on my face and I LOVE it. It is great for acne scars, broken capillaries, sun spot, moles, etc... It does things that cleansers can not touch. But, you will still need to use a good cleanser, toner, and sun protection moisturizer. I do not regret spending the $ for laser. Micro-dermabrasion and chemical peels are good also. I would set up a consultation with a Dermatologist or Aesthetics place, to see what they would recommend. Good Luck.
Hi, First and foremost DO NOT USE CHEMICALS ON FACE

Dermatologist in Victoria BC for acne treatment?

I have become fed up with my lousy skin and would like to see someone who can recommend a proper regime of products for this. I am currently in Victoria BC. Can anyone recommend a dermatologist or skin specialist? Thank you!

(I have heard that Dr. John Amiss, the top result on a Google search, is not very good, so you can save yourself the time of recommending him.)Dermatologist in Victoria BC for acne treatment?
I did some research and talked to my doctor to find the most common causes of acne.

鈥?Hormones: The number one cause of acne is the production of sex hormones, known as androgen, that begins at puberty. This is why majority of acne sufferers are adolescents and teens. Hormones are responsible for then acne flare-ups during menstruation and pregnancy.

鈥?When the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgens, it produces extra sebum. In its journey up the follicle toward the surface, the sebum mixes with common skin bacteria and dead skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the follicle. While this process is normal, the presence of extra sebum in the follicle increases the chances of clogging 鈥?and acne.

鈥?Stress: can also cause the production of hormones, such as cortisol, which can aggravate acne. Stress brings upon different hormone levels. With hormone changes the body prompts the skins oil glands to enlarge, secreting more oil. Which causes white heads, black heads and pimples.

鈥?Oily or heavy make up: Heavy make-up clogs the pores and oily make-ups add more oil, which only adds to the problem if oily skin already exists. Cosmetics, especially certain moisturizers, foundations and pomades contain lanolin, petrolatum, vegetable oils, butyl stearate, lauryl alcohol and oleic acid.

鈥?Certain medications and steroids: Vitamins are good for your body, But an excess of vitamins B1, B6 and B12 can cause acne flare-ups. These vitamins are good for the skin, but avoid overuse.

鈥?Diets: For some people, a diet that is high in refined carbohydrates and sugars can actually aggravate their acne.

鈥?Over abrasive cleansing: Harsh exfoliators can damage skin and spread infections.

鈥?Picking and squeezing: This can actually send the infection deeper into the skin and can cause scarring.

鈥?Environmental irritants: such as high humidity and pollution. High humidity actually causes swelling of skin. Pollution is of course is a big cause for clogging your pores.

鈥?Genes: Family members who are also acne sufferers. Acne is inherited and severe cases known as cystic acne usually come from heredity.

    And..,

What the skin needs is a treatment that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.

Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

does baking soda mixed with water help stop/prevent acne or is it bad for your skin?Any fellow acne sufferers or dermatologist?
Your best bet will be to drink lots of water and try not to stress too much about it as stress if known to make acne worse. Also acne goes away pretty fast when you know how to get rid of body toxins. I used this method and has been acne free since then http://morereviewz.googlepages.com/acnef鈥?/a> You can try it if you like.

Good LuckAny fellow acne sufferers or dermatologist?
    Dear Lil,

I had an acne problem too like you before (but now i'm free), my suggestion is.. do not try to use something unnatural for your face. thats why i get so many acnes again when my skin was being heal. to prevent and heal acne naturally, you can use water, tomato or cucumber. for more information go to http://www.myskinandbeauty.com

i'm sure that will help you much.
use soaps without alcohol. stay out of the sun.

i would think that baking soda would dry out your skin too much.

Will setting up a appointment for the dermatologist and gettin medication make my acne go away?

A dermatologist may help, but obviously there's no miracle cure for acne. It goes away with age, as it is caused by hormones changing rapidly in the body.

Most likely, you'll be given antibiotics and a skin cream to try and get rid of the acne, but there's never any guarantee - but hey ho, give it a shot.

    Good luck!

Tom.Will setting up a appointment for the dermatologist and gettin medication make my acne go away?
Well, there is no ONE definite cure, but with PERSISTANCE, you may find a winning combo. I say cleanliness, but not over-cleanliness is a good idea.

    I'd see a dermatologist.
Don't waste ur money on dermatologist or prescriptions- Ok, here's the answer from someone who suffered from acne for 12 years that tried everything and finally found the cure- Im not sure how old you are but if you're in the 20's or older then I suggest a liver flush- Its takes 24 hrs of ur life, a couple grapefruits, olive oil and epsom salt= less than 7 dollars for everything- pills or topical treatments may work for some people but if its an ongoing problem then tackle the root cause- Liver flush is a simple procedure that literally flushes out deposits of fats, toxins, bacteria and gallstones from the liver. Acne wise liver flush is the most beneficial detox. It is possible to get clear without liver flush but you can expect acne to reappear quickly after eating unhealthy foods. As liver is so critical to the health of the skin it's almost impossible to really break free from adult acne if the liver is not functioning properly.
    Yes
    Hi Nick

Our son had severe problems with acne on face, chest and back. 2 dermatologists couldn't help to eliminate his acne permanently. Then we did some research on our own and found out that Vitamin A, Zinc, MSM and Guggul are natural ingredients that help with acne. There is one supplement called Actimine which includes all of these ingredients. Our son took it for a couple of months and is acne-free since then. The website below has some more info and also how to get a discount.

    Hope that helps!

How much does a dermatologist appointment cost for acne?

ive spent a lot of money on acne products and nothing helps, i just want clear skinHow much does a dermatologist appointment cost for acne?
it depends on your parent's insurance....

if they have good insurance and ask for a GENERIC medication, it may be free... but if you have bad insurance and get a new medication (which is not necessarily better) it can cost $250+

even your family practice doc can prescribe an acne medicaiton, so if you are due for your yearly checkup you can get it then and not pay for a separate appt! How much does a dermatologist appointment cost for acne?
You need to call the doctor's office and ask if they take your insurance. If they don't, ask what their ';office call'; is, if that isn't feasible find another doctor that will take your insurance. An office call for acne isn't any different than any other dermatological visit unless they do specific treatments. Treatments like lazers etc.
If you are game for this, then you may want to try this out. Well let me make it crystal clear that it's not some product that you've spent money on. It's a book. It tells how to get rid of your acne problem without spending a fortune. If you go to a dermatologist, you'll end up spending at least around 250-300$. This cost you only 30$. And it comes with money back guarantee. So if you are interested, visit

After 12 years in this profession I find that most of my patients who deal with acne or brekout problems DO NOT SEE RESULTS from commercial products sold at drung stores or the mall. They usually contain too much benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or sulfur which tends to OVER DRY the skin and cause itching or irritations.

Also, home remedies such as lemon juice or alcohol or toothpaste SHOULD NEVER BE USED because they cause small tears in the skin and leave the skin more susceptible to bacteria that causes pimples or acne.

Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it's a broad question!

Your age plays a role! Do you always have breakouts?

However, acne can result from several factors such an increase in hormone levels. In males testosterone or androgens. In females, androgens respectively. The increase in androgen levels can stimulate the oil glands to become enlarged and thus more oil production is produced. An increased oil production can clog the pores with oil or sebum ( white thick substance) which cause the cell walls of the pores in the skin to breakdown. This process allows bacteria to form and thus breakouts develop.

Genetics may also be a cause. It is a myth that greasy food or chocolate causes breakouts.

However, using make-up sponges that are not changed or washed often can contaminate the pores with bacteria which may develop into acneic breakouts.

Teenagers going through hormonal and growth changes are prone to acne.

If you have severe breakouts than you might need medication. There are many factors.

The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.

The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples' needs.

Your skin type is different than mine and your age differs from mine so how is it logical that we both use the same skin product for breakouts. We need different strengths of cleansers and toners. Do you kind of understand what I am getting at?

Here is my STRONG SUGGESTION for you. I refer all my students and patients to this website:

    www.aboutyourskincare.com

You need to consult with professionals and on this website YOU CAN ASK QUESTIONS FOR FREE AND A SKIN EXPERT/PHYSICIAN WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. It would be a shame if you dont take advantage of this free service.

Lastly, they have incredible products for breakouts and they make them specifically for every kind of skin type. That means that if your breakouts are more severe than mine, than while we both will buy the same product yours will have stronger ingredients than mine will.

They have a mild glycolic acid cleanser that's great for your type of skin and also a DRYING LOTION ( I have 3 bottles) that you put directly on your breakouts and the next day it's gone. It's truely magic in a bottle.

A basic guideline for properly taking care of your skin is this ( now if you're a young girl you will need fewer products than this):

    Night time:

    1. Exfoliate the skin

    2. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    3. Mild Glycolic Acid Toner ( cleans off the excess debris and balances the PH level of the skin).

    4. Drying Lotion used only on breakouts

    5. Moisturizer

    Morning:

    1. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    2. Moisturizing cream

The above is a standard you may need to only use one or two products. Visit: www.aboutyourskincare.com

As I suggested and click on the ASK FOR FREE section send them an email and you will get free expert skin care advice.

    Good Luck to you,

break open vitamin e capsules and rub that over the affected area. and buy some maderma and apply it as often as needed. don't get impatient and give up, you obviously won't see immediate results, but you WILL get results and it will definitely be worth it.How can I remove acne/ pimple scars w/o going to the dermatologist/ facial salon? Try using Acne complex it helped my sister. She had to use it about for 2 months to see the differece. Hope it helps
An useful remedy for pimples is zinc. Which can be taken in a dose of 50 mg daily for a month and then reduce the dose. More such solutions at http://solutionsforpimples.blogspot.com/
Using a banishing cream or bleaching cream can help sometimes with the redness/brown scars that are left behind. You'd have to be careful and read the label if you have sensitive skin though.

I'm not sure if there are any drugs available for this.

Be sure to exfoliate regularly too.

Below are links to a banishing cream and excellent exfoliating system (I use them both!).
take 400 mg vitamin E capsule everyday. Rest u can take a lemon squeezed in 1 glas water. dont take any more medicins. just exercise 30 mins. u can also massage with almond oil for 15 min everyday . good luck thats what helped me after using all the costly products in market
Fade them away using papaya kojic and licorice base soap and cream which are available online. These work wonders.

Maybe it will work on you too.

cuz im goin to one pretty soon for the first time and jus wonderin

also, what do u do there? How long does it take for a dermatologist to find what is right for your acne?
Just depends. Sometimes they get it right on the first visit. I went to a dematologist and he identified my skin issue on the first visit and prescribed medicine that cleared it up.How long does it take for a dermatologist to find what is right for your acne?
It depends. It all comes back to what works for your skin the best. If It's the first thing she gives you, then yay. But it could take over 3 years. My friend has been going since 4th grade and now shes in 8th and just find something htat works for her. For instance, I got some it works for about a week and then the acne comes back. But it all depends. :D good luck!
Depends on if he/she actually knows what they are doing.

I went to a jack hole doctor and it took me lots of time and pain and accutane and monthly blood tests and birth control and all this other $hIt and I still get little zits. I wanna shoot myself..........................
Trial and error. The first Rx may be right for you, maybe not. You just sit there and he looks at the places where you have acne.
usually a dermatologist finds the cure for your acne when he realizes he has sucked you dry of your money
That would depend on how your skin responds to treatment

How much are most dermatologist's visits, and how much are most acne curing procedures?

I have moderate acne that is better sometimes and really bad other times. I just want some expert advice, i use the best skin care available to me and it just doesn't do the job for long, i dont have insurance but still want to see a derm, what do you think. btw i live in the Detroit area of Michigan. How much are most dermatologist's visits, and how much are most acne curing procedures?
I started having really bad acne problems beginning when I was in high school. I had acne on my shoulders that was embarrasing. I tried Proactiv, Zyporex, and even the Asso Gold Cleaning Bar with limited results. I ended up calling a local dermatologist in Wisconsin. After 5 months nearly all of my acne cleared up. I suggest you try calling a local Michigan dermatologist that can help. http://www.homeacnecare.com/Michigan-Der鈥?/a>How much are most dermatologist's visits, and how much are most acne curing procedures?
Get a good recommendation for a good doctor, and go see him/her. I went to see one for my acne, and it was amazing what he did! It was cleared up in a matter of weeks!

However, if you don't get a good doctor, you won't get good results. I went to a doctor at the university health clinic when I was in college, and he had me on anti-biotics for three months. It didn't do a thing for me. Maybe because I wasn't eating right and keeping my stress down, but maybe because he wasn't doing the right things.

In my case, after he cleared up that one bad case, I haven't really had many breakouts except normal period stuff.

Eating right, keeping your stress down, getting enough sleep and exercise, and doing some sort of home facial once a week will keep your ';new face'; in good shape. You can get started on those things now, as a matter of fact.

Where can i find the best dermatologist to achieve the best results possible to treat acne?

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

    1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

    2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn鈥檛 use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured鈥f we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don鈥檛 want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.
It's simple. acne has gotten worse in the last 20 years. ok, so that means environmentally something's going on. for two weeks, i don't want you to drink milk or eat yogurt or cheese. Any milk products (also ice cream) stay away from them. cows are being injected with hormones and antibiotics to keep their milk supply in good working order and antibiotics to keep them healthy. what the manufactures dont give a f*** about is that is going into the products-simple. i drink soymilk-it actually takes like milk and it's healthier, but anyway. listen, most dairy products pack a lot of of acne-inducing iodine, since cows are fed iodine-enriched grain to prevent infection. all of this information is in the reports of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. stop using products off the counter, ok. because i researched acne ';helping'; companies. their products help immediately, but it also leaves behind acne inducing residue to make start another pimple. i'm serious, it's ridiculous. just use neosporin (the lotion kind) after you pop one and it'll be fine in the morning. let me know how it works out.
Ok, here's the deal. I used to work at a national health brand place and was ranked 1st out of 3600 stores-because-I read alot-and knew my product-and used people there as guinea pigs for to see what worked best as to supplements/herbs, etc. from what I read. SO-you can either thank me for this-or do what you want.

    Take this daily

Niacin-vitamin B3 (the FULL flush type--must be this type-you'll get used to it) 500 milligrams-once in the morning, once at night

Chromium Picolinate-200 micrograms-once in the morning, once at night (US govt owns patent on this-interesting huh?)

Zinc Picolinate-50 milligrams ONCE a day

Flax Seed Oil Softgels-1000 milligrams-one a day (make sure the one you buy does not use hexane to process their oil)

Use this for two weeks and thank me very much-do this for a month and say HOLY CROP! After two weeks, cut the niacin dosage to once a day.

Plus, it is very odd, when I have posted this, or edited it, a pop-up with acne ads comes up............hmmmmmmmmmmm

Two types of acne scars exist; the first type is usually a spot of skin that is brown, pink or purple in color indicating that a pimple has been in that area of your skin. The second type of acne is known as an “ice pick” scar and it is the small hole you sometimes see on your skin where the lesion used to occupy. Inflamed lesions, such as cysts, pustules, or nodules are the major culprits in causing acne scars.
you could cover it up with make up

  • Can a dermatologist prescribe birth control pills for the treatment of acne?

If so, are they the ones who give you the pelvic exam/pap smear? Aren't those 2 exams required before you get bc?Can a dermatologist prescribe birth control pills for the treatment of acne?
There are no exams required before you get birth control. I was prescribed them by a pediatrician for unbearable cramps. I didn't have to get any exams done. Even if you did, those exams would be done by a gynecologist; dermatologists are skin doctors and are not trained to perform such procedures. Can a dermatologist prescribe birth control pills for the treatment of acne?
Birth control pills can cause acne. Not prevent them.

These pills alter the hormones in your body. But...

.....they also over-stimulate the sebaceous glands in your skin.

These gland produce sebum or oil. And too much sebum increases your chances of breaking out.

There are more downsides to it then advantages, The pill will also not protect young girls very good against getting pregnant.

no the derm can give u the bc without getting u to see the gyn. u will be given a lo dosage pill. be very regular and give them a couple of months to work.
You would probably have to get it from your primary doctor or a gynecologist since it effects so much more than just your skin even though that may be reason for taking it.
I thought only doctors did that and sometimes they are very reluctant to

i have mild acne on my face, back, and chest and it is causing scarring. Would a dermatologist proscribe me something? How bad does your acne need to be for a dermatologist to prescribe you creme?
Yes, you don't have to have very bad acne before a dermatologist will prescribe something.

If you're already having scarring I'm certain you'll get some prescription help from your doc.

Good luck! How bad does your acne need to be for a dermatologist to prescribe you creme?
Try this detox program http://morereviewz.googlepages.com/acnef鈥?/a> you will save yourself much trouble. I've had acne for years, had it on my face and back mostly. Nothing seemed to get rid of it.

One piece of advice, drink lots of water and try not to stress.
For even mild acne, your family Dr. can prescribe a mild version of hormone medication to even-out your hormone instability, which is very often behind what is causing your acne. Works better than creams. It's more effective.

Hi, I dont know the answer to that but I almost went to a derm for a 2 year break out that wouldnt go away - I tried everything then tried ';Natures .Cure'; its at drug stores (skeptical but it worked) .it was 10 bucks and it comes in pill form and also has a tube of white stuff.. The pills are taken .for 2 weeks or a month and they worked fast - i didnt even need the cream, thought id pass it along because it really cured me!!.
no, i dont think so. usually they will prescribe a diet or something. there are certain foods that irritate the skin oils like tomatoes and dairy products, white flour, etc. its not just unhealthy foods that cause acne. red bell peppers do also.
    No

I went to a dermatologist for my acne too and they just checked my skin to see what kind of acne I had.I use to have severe acne until they gave me this pill called minicyclin or something spelled like that and now i only have three pimples and they are super small =D But make sure you tell them what kind of treatment you want.I say pills are better

i am going to the dermotologist next friday for my moderate acne, i do want to try roaccutane but will he actually give it to me if i ask him to go on it?What will the dermatologist prescribe me for my acne?
Acne and many other problems in the body are caused by what are known as free radicals. We take them into our bodies in many ways from pollution in the air and water, smoking and eating crappy, greasy fast foods and by ingesting processed sugars, just to name a few of the culprits and diseases as serious as cancer are believed to be caused by free radical poisoning.

Our bodies natural defense against free radicals are known as antioxidants. Because of nutrient deficient and over worked soil even the fruits and veggies we eat to get our antioxidant levels up can leave us well short of the actual antioxidant levels we need to successfully combat these free radicals sso we need a supplement.

I have had problems with my skin my whole life and through some good advice and a ton of research I found what's probably one of the most antioxidant rich foods on the planet. It's called NONI JUICE. Noni juice is ultra rich in antioxidants and nutrients. Only a few weeks after I started drinking Noni Juice my energy levels rose, my skin and hair became clear and softer, my nails were healthier and grew quicker and my appetite was also more suppressed because I was feeing my body what it needed and not just some fast food garbage that stuffs us and makes us fat but doesn't give us the nutrients we need. Noni Juice was a great help in conquering my skin and acne problems and I know it can work for you. What will the dermatologist prescribe me for my acne?
Only the doctor knows what they will give you. Probably will start on a topical though.

I'm 17 years old, that may make a difference. Considering adolescense is coming to an end.Dermatologist or store bought acne treatment?
I have had acne for years and tried everything. The best thing I found was fibre and lots of water. I drink at least two litres a day. You have to pee a lot but it's better than acne.Dermatologist or store bought acne treatment?
If your acne is mild I would probably try some over the counter products. I used to check the site ';acne.org'; to get informed about acne and specific products. I think it's worth to research products and compare them before you decide to purchase them. Also be careful where you do your research.

If I were you and since you are 17 years old, I would definitely talk to my parents and explain how I feel. I think it's best if you go to a dermatologist. I am sure a dermatologist can help you a lot.

My acne started when I was 24, yeah I know, when you leave adolescence you think it's over but it was not my case! Everybody is different and I am sure your acne will go away :-)

I also notice that eating certain foods would aggravate my acne. I know some people believe diet has an effect on your acne and some don't. From my experience certain foods made it worst. I truly believe that nobody knows your body like you!

    Good luck!

For a short period, yes it really helped. She prescribed a cream, a gel and an antibiotic. However, altogether, the price was nearly $900 (with insurance). I could not pay this up every 2 months so I discontinued using the products.

Should I go to a dermatologist or an esthetician for my acne?

I've tried many dermatologists only to have acne for 15 years...it was lessened when I was on accutane and for a couple years after. But now I have it in full force again. My feeling on dermatologists is that they don't want you to have clear skin...they just want you to keep coming back. I know they aren't all like that but they give me the same prescriptions over and over and they don't work. Accutane is horrendous for the body. And just living with the acne is so hard. So, what are your opinions on the difference between the esthetician and dermatologis? Have you found one to be better than the other for acne?Should I go to a dermatologist or an esthetician for my acne?
Go to an esthetician and get facials once a week or twice a month. It does help, they clean out your skin and get your facial blood flowing. I love the relaxing sensation of getting a facial and your skin feels so much better. Microdermabrasion is great too. Obviously you have gone the route with a dermatologist and you don't like it. There's no harm in trying something new. Use Proativ inbetween your appointments for something at home. Getting rid of acne is sometimes just a matter of routine facial cleansing and the fact that most people just plain don't have the time.Should I go to a dermatologist or an esthetician for my acne?
    Dermatologist only.
I don't know about that, but try looking into herbs and check out your diet! Helping the liver with herbs can help.
May sound trite, but, ProActiv and Acne Free DO work !
u should use a product called dermafina , they sell it at walgreens or online

Try using lukewarm water all the time.. Dermatologist will just worsen your skin. They will make you come back several times just to make money.

Do not touch the affected area..Try to wash your face all the time with lukewarm water..And most important, avoid looking at the mirror, because this will make you depressed. Use a mild soap if possible. Drink a lot of fluids and balance diet will helps.

I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.

I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.

I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.

Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.

You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.

Well good luck and best wishes.
beofre you go to a dermatologist.. try this..

There is this new popular cream that people have been talking about.

It was even televised on TV.

It prevents future and existing acne, diminishes scars, and lightens skin and blemishes. Fast results too! (It's been claimed that major results can be seen within a week and no later than two weeks)

Before and After photos are available at the given ebay site.

This person is providing 1-3 week trial samples (Only for ONE DOLLAR.. definitely a deal) on ebay at:

Search up ';Cee En's Acne Solution'; or ';best acne solution ever'; on ebay.

First 100 customers can get the item for $1 for one week trial and up to 3 weeks. Or you can purchase 1 month supply for $40 or 6 month supply for $160

It's expensive, but the product DOES work.

My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream.

I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight.

    I hope this helps. =)
