Serious; The physician, will naturally look at your skin, tell you what type of skin you have, oily, dry, etc. Tell you weather your acne is hormonal, dietary, genetic. Will prescribed some topical medications, and possibly oral antibiotic. Will require several follow up treatments, for you to see the treatment through. If you have scarring, eventually the Doctor will use ';Dry Ice'; on your face, doesn't hurt, but it sounds like bacon frying in a pan. But again, it's painless, leaves skin reddened for a few days, and then it peals. Don't worry, Dermatologist are very nice Doc's, you will be fine, do great, and began getting your acne under control. Been There. Hopefully your dermatologist has a large regimen of drugs that he can use for you, because no two people are alike, and there is no set way to treat acne. If it's too big/deep for him/her to fix it, then you could see a plastic surgeon. I had that treatment when I was a teenager...I think I went in once a week. I noticed when I had to miss an appt for sure. And for those that think you are crazy, it's a real treatment. It's dry ice crushed, I think they mix in some chemicals, and then they put it on the end of a tongue depressor and wrap it in gauze so it doesn't touch your skin directly so much. I always liked it, it was a tingly sensation; it didn't hurt.
';Getting dry ice'; .....uhm, I seriously doubt this, seeing as dry ice is very cold, you wouldn't want to touch your skin with it. Age 18, however, is more typical.Do I need to be 18 years old in order to consult a dermatologist about my acne?
NoDo I need to be 18 years old in order to consult a dermatologist about my acne?
No, but a doctor can't treat you for anything without your parent's consent until you are 18. I think it's against the law, though I don't know what happened to that proposal to allow teens to get abortions without their parent's consent.
im pretty sure you have to be 18 to consult the dermatologist by yourself but im 15 and i went with my mom and its working great
No, you can call a dermatologist when the acne really bothers you and becomes serious.
no im 14 and i did (with my mom)

its working really well definately go
no you don't. i'm 12 and i went to a dermatologist. they'll give you certain types of acne medication according to whether it's severe or just mild acne.
Of course not. Like what does the dermatologist usually do? Will he be able to prescribe something for me at my 1st apointment?I'm going to see a dermatologist for my acne in about a month..?
they will look at your problem and ask you questions, and give you a prescriptionI'm going to see a dermatologist for my acne in about a month..?
most dermatologists are different, but i'll share my story with you. the first day i went to the dermatologist for my acne, he observed my skin (i guess to figure out if i had acne or some other condition) then asked me how long i've had a problem with my acne. then he asked me a couple more questions and took some notes. he walked out of the room, then a nurse walked in with some stuff. she began my treatment. first, she used this tool thing to pop all the whiteheads. then i went under a UV light for about 30 seconds. after that, she put this kind of acid on my face that felt like acupuncture. then a couple seconds after, i just wiped off my face and that was it! then she gave me a gentle soap free cleanser, some retin-a gel, and oil free moisturizer. i wasn't perscribed anything the first visit. but it was the second or third visit when we all relized what he told the nurse to give me wasnt working, i used a medication wash afterwards, and i was perscribed azithromycin. it worked fast, but eventually got weaker as i kept using it. good luck on your first visit! (i hope it all works out for you, unlike it did for me)

:D
He'll ask you some questions and look at your acne. He'll probably prescribe you something. It's nothing to worry about!
they ask what ur having trouble with and stuff like that. yea can give u something on ur first visit
nothing really happens. they look at you and say here's a prescription.ethayshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13558288900742600081noreply@blogger.com0
