I've been to 3 and this is the usual routine-
1- Wait in the room for about 25 minuets (not the waiting room, the patient room)
2- He/she will introduce themselves and take a quick look at your face while you talk
3- He/she will ask you to stand up and the dermatologist may or may not put on a magnifying glass type mask on their face.
4- They will prescribe an anti-biotic and topical face cream.
5- The endI am going to a dermatologist for acne in a couple weeks. What will she do to my skin/give me?
There's hundreds of prescription acne meds, from pills, to washes, to topicals... To name a few there's Doxycyline, Minnocyline, Accutane.... BenzaClin, Differin, Ziana, Epiduo....
So whatever she thinks you need, she'll give you
Just REMEMBER to moisturize. Your skin will be SO dry!
